FAQs
Clog Un-Boggler, INC
How do I know I have a sewer line clog, how long does it take to fix, and how can I prevent it?
Common indicators of a sewer line clog include multiple drains running slowly, toilets making gurgling sounds, water backing up into sinks, basements, bathtubs, or floor drains, and the presence of sewage odors. The time required to resolve the issue varies significantly—some clogs can be cleared in as little as 5 minutes, while others may take over an hour. After we've resolved your problem, we'll identify what caused the blockage. In some cases, it's tree roots that require yearly maintenance, or it could be a toilet paper obstruction (we recommend using single-ply toilet paper to help prevent this). What should never go down the drain?
You should never flush or pour grease, coffee grounds, wet wipes (including those labeled as "flushable"), paper towels, or feminine products into toilets, sinks, or garbage disposals. If you're uncertain whether something belongs down the drain, it's best to assume it doesn't. However, if you've already disposed of something you shouldn't have, there's no need to worry—we're here to restore proper flow to your plumbing.Do you provide emergency and after-hours sewer and drain services?
Absolutely. We recognize that sewer and drain emergencies can be highly stressful situations. We make every effort to respond promptly and deliver reliable service whenever you need us, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays.Do you handle plumbing repairs?
We specialize in sewer and drain cleaning services. Our focus is on removing blockages, diagnosing drainage problems, and helping you avoid future issues. If we discover that a repair or replacement is necessary beyond our scope of services, we can recommend trusted local professionals who will ensure the work is completed properly. What methods do you use to clear clogs?
We utilize professional mechanical snaking and augers for typical blockages, and high-pressure hydro jetting for more stubborn obstructions such as grease, sludge, and tree roots. What is a sewer camera inspection?
We use a specialized waterproof camera that's inserted into your pipe to visually locate issues such as cracks, significant root intrusion, or deep blockages. This inspection also helps us identify whether your piping is PVC, clay tile, or cast iron. It provides us with a detailed visual assessment of the problem, which ensures we can properly fix and prevent future issues. Video footage can be provided to you for your records. What is hydro jetting and when is it needed?
Hydro jetting is an advanced pipe cleaning technique that uses high-pressure water to thoroughly clean the interior of your plumbing lines. While traditional snaking only creates a small opening through a blockage, hydro jetting completely eliminates heavy grease, mineral deposits, sludge, and tree roots. This method is recommended if you're experiencing recurring clogs that return shortly after being cleared, multiple slow drains occurring simultaneously throughout your home, frozen pipes or sewer lines, or tree root intrusion in your underground sewer system. What causes a clogged drain or sewer backup?
Drains and sewers can become clogged for numerous reasons, including grease accumulation, "flushable" wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, food scraps, hair, soap scum, tree roots, and deteriorating or older sewer lines. Routine drain cleaning and mindful disposal practices can help prevent many typical clogs. When a backup does occur, Clog Un-Boggler has the professional equipment necessary to restore proper drainage. What should I do if my pipes are frozen in the winter?
If you suspect your pipes have frozen, turn on the affected faucet to relieve pressure and do not use open flames or propane torches to thaw the pipe. You can attempt to gently warm exposed pipes using a hair dryer, heating pad, or warm towels. If you're unable to locate the frozen section, the pipe has burst, or you still don't have water, contact Clog Un-Boggler. We'll help identify the problem and restore your plumbing before a frozen pipe results in expensive repairs. What if my pipes freeze?
Wisconsin winters can be harsh. If your pipes freeze, remain calm and avoid using a torch. Turn on the faucet, safely warm any exposed pipes, and if you're unsuccessful or suspect a burst pipe, contact us. We're available to help thaw your system and restore proper flow.
